Ingredients:
For the Pork Chops:
- 4 bone-in pork chops
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the Gravy:
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Season and Flour the Pork Chops:
- Season the pork chops with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Dredge each pork chop in all-purpose flour, shaking off any excess.
- Sear the Pork Chops:
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the pork chops and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side until they develop a golden-brown crust. Remove the chops from the skillet and set them aside.
- Saute Onions, Mushrooms, and Garlic:
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and mushrooms. Saute for about 5 minutes, or until they begin to soften and caramelize.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Create the Gravy:
- Pour in the chicken broth, heavy cream, dried thyme, and dried rosemary. Stir to combine.
- Return the seared pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the gravy mixture.
- Season the gravy with additional salt and black pepper to taste.
- Simmer and Cook:
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let the chops simmer for about 25-30 minutes, or until they are tender and fully cooked.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Once the pork chops are cooked through and the gravy has thickened, serve them hot with the rich, savory gravy spooned over the top.
